Dear Member:

UFCW/RWDSU Local No. 220 workers in Williamson, New York have been forced out on strike by the greed of their employer, Mott’s. The more than 300 members work in a very profitable plant for Mott’s, owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. In recent contract negotiations the company attempted to slash wages by $1.50/hour, reduce retirement contributions, and undercut a long-time experienced workforce. Meanwhile, the CEO’s pay has doubled in the last 6 years and the company continues to post record profits.

Please support fellow UFCW members by boycotting these Mott’s products:
Mott’s Apple Sauce
Hawaiian Punch
Margaritaville Margarita Mix
Mr. & Mrs. T Drink Mixes
Welch’s Grape Juice (64ox.)
Rose’s Lime Juice
Snapple cans
Mott’s Fruitsations
Mott’s Garden Cocktail
ReaLime Juice
ReaLemon Juice
Holland House Cooking Wines
Clamato

NO Dino!!!!

We have an urgent call for action.  The Spokane Shock, our arena league football team, has named Dino Rossi "honorary captain" for Friday's AFL Championship game and he will be calling the coin toss.  Owner Brady Nelson believes that "Rossi's presence was well-received [the last time Dino appeared], so he wasn't expecting any backlash with bringing the candidate back for another appearance."   We disagree with the organization's sentiment that the decision to add two time loser Rossi to the program was done as a way to further "add to the championship atmosphere" at Friday's game.  Maybe we are underestimating the Shock management and they are planning to have Dino wear a Tampa Bay shirt and have some of his "luck" for winning big showdowns rub off on the opposing team.  Maybe Dino's appearance would be good for the Tampa Bay Storm, but it would not be good for the Spokane community.  We are in a tough campaign battle and this is only the beginning.
Please urge the Shock to rethink their decision and remove Dino Rossi from the program.  Let's keep the Shock championship game focused on community building, not divisive politics.  Contact Kevin Maloney, Director of Communications at  (509) 242-7462.  Or, send an email to the Shock owner and their management team:

Brady Nelson, Owner/CEO bnelson@spokaneshock.com
Adam Nebeker, General Manager anebeker@spokaneshock.com
Kevin Maloney, Director of Communications kmaloney@spokaneshock.com
Andrew Dolan, Director of Ticket Sales adolan@spokaneshock.com

You can also contact the Shock's corporate sponsors at: http://www.spokaneshock.com/partners/corporate/.  We've included a sample email letter below.  Please add your own personal note and take action now!  It's not too late for them to change this misguided decision, but only if we let our voices be heard.
